Job SummaryProvides quality instruction to students in western history that will contribute to the learning experiences necessary for each student to meet the objectives of the course and to be successful in both their education and career development experiences.
Essential Duties- Master's degree in history OR a master's degree in any discipline and 24 graduate credits in history.
- Master’s degree focus on western history.
- Experience teaching western history or related courses.
- Experience teaching at the community college level.
- Ability to teach online courses and utilize necessary technology.
- Ability to manage and engage students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Ability to manage student outcomes related to all classes taught.
- Ability to teach courses in accordance with college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines.
- Knowledge of appropriate teaching methods and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Work is typically performed in a normal office environment and classroom setting.
Salary PlacementInitial salary placement for Instructional Load Credit (ILC) Instructors will be based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College, per the guidelines in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Initial salary placement for all other newly hired instructors will be at Level 1.
