Process Engineer, Quality Engineering
As a Shell Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving manufacturing performance within a fast-paced production environment. You will leverage engineering expertise, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
This role partners cross-functionally with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to solve complex process challenges, optimize slurry chemistry and shell processes, and lead initiatives that improve productivity and product performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance shell process quality using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Support daily production operations by troubleshooting process issues and implementing sustainable solutions
- Monitor, test, and control slurry chemistry to maintain consistent process performance
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic dipping systems to improve quality and throughput
- Analyze scrap, rework, and process performance data to identify trends and drive improvements
- Maintain process stability through equipment monitoring, parameter control, and optimization efforts
- Support engineering change management, including review, documentation, validation, and implementation
- Participate in audits and quality investigations; implement and track corrective and preventive actions
- Evaluate product designs and equipment capabilities to ensure manufacturability within existing processes
- Lead and support capital projects and tooling initiatives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to achieve plant goals
- Perform additional engineering and quality-related duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, data‑driven problem solver with a proven track record of process improvement.
- Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
- Reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager.
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, or related field)
- Knowledge of investment casting technology, processes and manufacturing methods are preferred.
