Manager – EDI & Documentation

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Manager – EDI & Documentation to lead import/export documentation and customs compliance activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong operational knowledge of customs procedures, EDI filing, regulatory requirements, and documentation management while ensuring timely coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and file Bills of Entry (BOE) and Shipping Bills (SB) through Logisys / Live Impex (Softlink) .
Ensure complete compliance with the Customs Act, Customs Tariff Act, Foreign Trade Policy, and Allied Acts .
Interpret and implement applicable Customs, DGFT, and Trade Notifications, Circulars, and Public Notices .
Handle and manage SIMS (Steel Import Monitoring System) and PIMS (Paper Import Monitoring System) registrations and related documentation.
Process and coordinate regulatory clearances and NOCs, including:
ADC (Assistant Drug Controller)
FSSAI
AQCS (Animal Quarantine & Certification Services)
PQMS (Plant Quarantine Management System)
Coordinate with Customs authorities, Shipping Lines, Airlines, CFS/ICD operators, and Government Agencies for smooth cargo clearance.
Work closely with the Pricing Team to ensure timely submission and validation of operational and customer requirements.
Coordinate with the Accounts Team to ensure documentation, billing, and financial processes are completed within timelines.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure activities such as HBL Manifest Filing and Delivery Order (DO) Issuance are completed accurately and within prescribed timelines.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits, compliance checks, and customer requirements.
Mandatory Requirements ✔ Hands-on working experience with Logisys and/or Live Impex (Softlink) for EDI filing.
✔ Strong practical knowledge of BOE and Shipping Bill filing processes .
✔ Thorough understanding of the Customs Act, Customs Tariff Act, and Allied Acts .
✔ Working knowledge of trade notifications, exemptions, and regulatory updates .
✔ Experience handling SIMS and PIMS registrations .
✔ Practical exposure to ADC, FSSAI, AQCS, and PQMS NOC processes .
✔ Ability to coordinate effectively with Operations, Pricing, Accounts, Shipping Lines, and Government Authorities.
✔ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Profile
Experience with a Freight Forwarder, CHA / Customs Broker, or Logistics Company.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of import/export documentation and compliance processes.
