Join the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education as an EAL Teacher. This full-time role focuses on implementing EAL policies and guiding newcomer students toward success.
The EAL Teacher will play a crucial role in assessing school needs, allocating resources, and developing regional EAL practices. You will lead professional development, provide instruction, and monitor EAL students' progress while collaborating with the Student Planning Teams. This position emphasizes leadership, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication within diverse educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement provincial and regional EAL guidelines
• Assess EAL staff needs and resource allocation
• Lead consultations with principals and staff
• Develop center-wide professional development priorities
• Assist with EAL newcomer student placements
Requirements:
• Valid Nova Scotia Teaching Certificate
• Minimum five years of successful teaching experience
• Experience in diverse cultural settings
• Certification in TESL, TESOL, or related fields
• Strong leadership and communication skills
Drive impactful EAL practices and support student achievement across the Annapolis Valley's schools.
