Become an Excess Soils Specialist with Egis, focusing on urban transit infrastructure in Hamilton, Ontario. Manage and assess excess soil strategies while working with a dynamic environmental team.
In this mid-level role, you will assess and manage excess soils for major construction projects in Hamilton. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement management plans, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and handle soil characterization processes. Your expertise will facilitate effective soil reuse and disposal strategies aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review existing environmental investigations and identify data gaps
• Lead field programs, overseeing soil characterization and sampling
• Prepare Excess Soils Management Plan documentation
• Coordinate management of soil handling and regulatory compliance
• Support development of reuse and disposal strategies
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related discipline
• Professional designation as P.Geo., P.Eng., or eligible
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of Ontario excess soils regulations
• Experience in field investigation programs
