Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Analyst

Our client, an established and growing company in Hamilton is seeking a Controller to join their team! Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will play a strategic role in the financial management of a multi-entity company. The successful candidate will utilize their skill sets to interpret financial results and make recommendations to the Executive Team to support financial decisions. This is an in-office position.

Work Location: 100% in-office in Hamilton, ON.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with ASPE and other regulatory requirements
• Interpret financial results in order to assess business performance and make recommendations for improvement and sound financial strategies
• Work with the CFO in leading business planning process including job costing, annual operating plan, annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecast
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and financial performance
• Oversee treasury and compliance
• Build strong relationships with internal and stakeholders
• Implement best practice internal controls, company policies and procedures
• Provide support to automate and streamline existing financial processes
• Coordinate with external auditors, prepare required documentation and facilitate an efficient audit process.
• Additional projects as assigned to meet the needs of the business

Qualifications:

• 5+ years' of progressive experience as a Senior Accountant, Senior Financial Analyst, Assistant Controller, or Controller in a multi-entity setting
• CPA designation or equivalent experience required
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required for success in this role
