** Position Overview
** The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the Ohio State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment for an eight-week course in Summer 2026.
** Performance Objectives
*** Teach an eight-week course in Heritage Spanish Teaching Methodology in an online platform
** Education and Experience Requirements
*** Required*:
* The successful candidate must have a PhD in Spanish, Foreign and Second Language Teaching, or related discipline
* Native or near-native fluency in Spanish, and English and proficiency with Heritage Spanish
* Record of excellence in teaching Heritage Spanish
* Strong understanding of current best practices in second language pedagogy and superior language teaching skills; familiarity with ACTFL standards
* Desired*:
* Experience with outreach to Heritage Spanish-speakers in local high schools
* Familiarity with synchronous online tools for language teaching
