Overview
Water/Wastewater Project Manager — Harlingen, Texas. Garver is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our Water Design Center (WDC) team in Harlingen, TX, working on municipal water and wastewater treatment facility projects. The Project Manager will manage projects consisting of design reports, studies, technical memoranda, detailed plans, and specifications, and will work closely with municipal clients to exceed service expectations.
Responsibilities- Design and manage a variety of projects related to water and wastewater treatment plants
- Water and wastewater master planning
- Water pump stations and storage facilities
- Wastewater lift stations
- Coordinate with other support disciplines and regulating agencies
- Quality assurance and quality control
- Periodically travel for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties
- Assist the Regional Team Leader in managing and mentoring internal staff, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and delivering quality products in Garver standardization
- Set up and attend client meetings related to projects or business development, and attend industry conferences on behalf of Garver's Water Business Line
The Water Infrastructure Design Center is a knowledge-based hub that excels in highly technical, multi-discipline water and wastewater designs. The team collaborates across civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, construction, applications, and operations using the latest BIM/Civil3D/Micro Station software to improve delivery and reduce change orders.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 4 or more years of experience in design and construction of municipal water and wastewater facilities
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas
- Experience with designs including detailed plans and specifications for water and wastewater treatment projects
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles related to water and wastewater facility projects
- Basic understanding of multi-discipline practices (process, surveying, SUE, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control) for water/wastewater facility improvements
- Basic understanding of water and wastewater pipeline infrastructure systems
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for client service and the water industry
- Strong work ethic
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and Outlook
- Ability and motivation to engage with existing and new clients for business development
- Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
- Certification as a Pump Systems Assessment Professional
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) in multiple states, including TX, OK, NM, AZ, CO
- 10 years or more of experience with municipal water and wastewater design
- Five or more years of experience leading project teams
- Relationships with municipal clients within Garver's footprint
- Active participation in professional organizations such as AWWA, WEF, WRF
