Position: Engineer I, Early Career Development Program (ECDP) - Process / Mechanical-2

About the role

The ECDP Engineer I, Process / Mechanical is a two‑year professional development program focused on design and field engineering experience. Participants will review plant sites and perform supporting assignments across capital and operational projects, with an estimated 25% travel.

Responsibilities
  • Provide plant support engineering at facilities: field service work, shutdown/maintenance outage inspections, equipment condition assessments, plant performance testing, incident investigations, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Support design engineering for upgrade and new projects: collect and review plant technical information, develop and review P&’s, technical drawings, work scopes, plant modification options, concept layouts, vendor proposals, specification development, bid evaluation, design review, construction inspections, and commissioning support.
Position Requirements

Location: SEMASS location in Rochester, MA or Haverhill location in Haverhill, MA.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience / Background:

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Internship, co‑op, or prior work experience in mechanical or process engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of AI tools in industrial environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Strong educational and technical background.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gather input, lead a task to completion and manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, exemplary initiative.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, quick learning, data extraction & analysis, critical thinking and problem‑solving.
  • Team player with a can‑do attitude, motivated and committed.

Pay Transparency

The estimated base pay range for the primary location is $57,400.00 – $76,400.00 USD. Final salary will depend on experience, education, location, skills, travel, and other factors.
