Welder

Our established agricultural operations firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our maintenance and fabrication team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our farming equipment infrastructure and ensuring the continuous operation of essential machinery used throughout our agricultural facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high‑quality welding work on various types of farm equipment, irrigation systems, and structural components critical to our operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks on agricultural equipment, machinery, and structural components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes.
  • Inspect farming equipment and machinery to identify necessary repairs and maintenance requirements.
  • Fabricate and repair metal components for irrigation systems, grain handling equipment, and harvesting machinery.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to execute precise welding projects.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in proper working condition, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with agricultural technicians and equipment operators to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
  • Perform routine maintenance welding on fencing, gates, storage structures, and other farm infrastructure.
  • Conduct quality inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and safety requirements.
  • Operate cutting torches, grinders, and other metalworking tools as needed.
  • Document all repair and fabrication work performed on equipment and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Respond to emergency repair situations to minimize downtime of critical agricultural equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety regulations and welding safety standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of professional welding experience, preferably in an agricultural, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques on various metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Valid welding certification from an accredited welding program or equivalent professional certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy and appropriate welding techniques for different materials and applications.
  • Experience with fabrication and repair of heavy machinery and agricultural equipment.
  • Proficiency in using plasma cutters, oxy‑acetylene torches, and various grinding and cutting tools.
  • Physical capability to lift up to fifty pounds and work in various positions including overhead, horizontal, and vertical welding.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and agricultural environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality workmanship.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to access various farm locations.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency repair situations and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
