Charter and Tour Bus Driver

Polynesian Adventure Tours, Hawaii’s premier sightseeing and transportation company, seeks positive, outgoing drivers to operate our fleet of commercial motor vehicles. Responsible for safe, efficient transportation of passengers while representing the company with professionalism.

$19.81/hr – $28.12/hr + Tips

• Comply with all federal, state, and county rules and regulations, including hours of service and current driver documentation.
• Conduct a daily pre‑trip inspection of the assigned vehicle, ensuring proper working order, fluid levels, cleanliness, and that all tools and sales materials are present.
• Follow the schedule and route set forth by Operations.
• Greet and assist passengers while boarding and exiting the vehicle; load/unload passenger baggage.
• Provide service to ADA clients.
• Report mechanical defects, safety concerns, or vehicle damage to Maintenance and/or Dispatch.
• Report bodily injury, accidents, or incidents immediately to Dispatch.
• Perform post‑trip inspection, complete the DVIR booklet, and deliver Maintenance copies to the appropriate collection site.
• Maintain uniform and required credentials, including driver’s license, medical certificate, and any badges.
• Execute other job‑related functions as assigned.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• At least 21 years of age with a current driver history record.
• Valid CDL Class C license with passenger and air brake endorsements required.
• One year of commercial driving experience preferred but not required.
• Possess the Aloha Spirit and a desire to share knowledge of Hawaii.
• Friendly, outgoing, and engaging personality.
• Strong customer service skills while servicing visitors.
• Good judgment and decision‑making in multiple situations.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Sense of humor.

• Customer service duties require friendly, professional interaction with customers, employees, and management at all times.
• Working conditions include sitting for extended periods, standing, climbing stairs, walking long distances, bending, squatting, and pushing/pulling equipment as needed.
• May require lifting supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and the public.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
