ASSOCIATE MECHANICAL ENGINEER - Flowtherm Systems
Job Summary
Provide technical assistance to sales, business development, and fabrication teams with product engineering information and submittals. The position also requires the candidate to participate in standard product development and ensure packaged systems are code compliant and meet customer design goals.
Essential Functions
Technical
· Produce Flow Therm documentation in compliance with construction parameters and sales quotation.
· Review consultant engineering construction plans, schematics and specifications.
· Perform equipment take-offs required for selecting and pricing equipment.
· Develop flow and/or PID drawings for custom projects
· Work with Flow Therm CAD department to develop custom project drawings.
· Work with Flow Therm Controls department to develop control schemes and sequence of operations (SOO) for equipment packages.
Support CHC Sales and Business Development efforts with application engineering and documentation needs.
Assist engineers, sales, and business development in the design of fluid handling and heat transfer systems.
Administrative
- Maintain document standards and control of all assigned Flow Therm job submittals.
- Maintain various compliance and regulatory certifications (e.g. NSF, UL, etc.)
- Assist in developing marketing literature and support CHC and Flow Therm marketing efforts
- Attend cross-departmental (pre-)production meeting(s)
- Attend client facing meetings with CHC Sales and Business Development
- Respond to CHC & Flow Therm emails and phone calls daily, ranging from technical trouble shooting to status updates on current job submittals
- Visit job sites as required to determine conditions and provide advice for future/retrofit equipment packages.
- Attend CHC and Flow Therm sanctioned events

- Fluency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, Revit, etc.)
- Fluency in reading 3D and 2D drawings
No Supervisory Responsibilities. No Travel is required.
Required and Education Experience
- Graduate Engineering Degree, BSME [
* Preferred* Concentration or specialization in HVAC] - Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC engineering.
- Full understanding of heating and cooling heat transfer load calculations. Understanding of piping systems and friction loss calculations for the HVAC and plumbing industries
Licenses or certifications (recommended):
- CAD proficiency certificate
- AutoCAD or Revit
