The Opportunity:

The Human Resource Representative is responsible for overseeing employeerelations, policies and procedures, recruitment, and talent management for the Hazletonplant. This position is responsible for assisting with human resourceinitiatives designed to drive continuous improvement of HR and businessperformance metrics. Overall, the HR Representative is responsible forproviding day-to-day HR functional support.

How you will impact WestRock:

Responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources processes includingstrategic organizational planning, compliance, employment, benefits, health andwellness, employee, and labor relations.

Responsible for compliance with all applicable Federal and State Laws includingEEO, FMLA, HIPAA, and ADA.

Conducts periodic training on applicable topics including sexual harassment,diversity, and employment law.

Responsible for managing and meeting the staffing needs of theorganization. This includes the sourcing, selection, testing, andhiring of employees as well as conducting new employee orientation.

Create progressive plans to monitor, review and make suggestions for correctiveactions for attendance, conduct and performance issues

Coach and advise front-line employees and managers regarding employee relationspolicies and proper operating procedures

Implement human resource policies and procedures to ensure compliance withlocal requirements and reporting.

Investigate questions and/or complaints to resolve employee relations issues

Complete payroll and attendance tracking on a weekly basis

Key leader in cultural change initiatives to create a team of actively engagedemployees

Responsible for the administrative aspects of the human resources functionincluding maintaining records and confidential employee files, employee pay andproviding statistical and regulatory reporting.

Researches and introduces policy changes for General Manager and LeadershipTeam approval. Consults and advises Leadership Team on topics ofinterest that could have a major impact on employee morale.

Responsible for being a key member and contributor of safety-related andperformance excellence processes.

Demonstrates concern for satisfying external and/or internal customers;resolves customer issues in a timely manner; communicates with customers toensure alignment and satisfaction; ability to operate with customers' bestinterests in mind

Manages and hosts employee events, luncheons, cookouts, picnics and any otheremployee related events.

What you need to succeed:

A bachelor's degree is preferred

A minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources experience.

CSP, PHR or SHRM-CP certification are a plus.

Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

Ability to investigate and assess employee conflicts objectively and solve suchissues using a variety of methods and tools, including coaching and conflictresolution.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Bring assignments to a successful completion under specific deadlines

Effective at multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities

Ability to lead change

Team building and influencing skills

Strong analytical/problem-solving ability

Possess a sense of urgency and self-motivation
