Infrared Payload (IRPL) IPT Program Manager
The Infrared Payload (IRPL) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Program Manager leads technical, cost, and schedule efforts for the IRPL portion of the SDA TRKT3 Missile Warning Missile Defense (MW/MD) program. The role ensures that the 18 Low Earth Orbit Missile Tracking Satellites meet performance, cost, and schedule objectives on a firm fixed‑price program.
Responsibilities- Provide authoritative technical and programmatic direction and execution for all IRPL‑related engineering and production activities.
- Oversee the subcontracted Infrared Payload (General Atomics) including telescope, filter wheel, focal plane, cryocooler, electronics, radiators, and structures.
- Manage and execute in‑house developed Space‑Based Mission Processing (SBMP) algorithms and coordinate with the Internal Research and Development (IRAD) team.
- Ensure on‑time and on‑cost delivery of hardware, circuit ware, and algorithms that meet performance requirements for the 18 satellites.
- Resolve cross‑team issues, coordinate with all partners, and maintain alignment with the Statement of Work, Technical Requirements, Integrated Master Schedule, and Cost baselines.
- Communicate status, needs, and resolution progress to Lockheed Martin, suppliers, and USG counterparts.
- Travel domestically less than 15%.
- Minimum 7 years in Satellite Sensing or Communication Product Development Programs.
- Successful experience as an Integrated Product Team or group lead for a government‑owned, Fixed Price or Cost‑Plus contract.
- Proven ability to communicate and partner with USG counterparts.
- Influence cross‑functional teams, resolve conflicts, and present technical information clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management and precise cost/schedule control, including risk and opportunity management.
- Experience working closely with critical subcontracts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or 12+ years of applicable related experience.
- Current Top Secret clearance with capability to obtain SCI access.
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems.
- Experience in Infrared Sensing Missions.
- Detailed knowledge of Optical / Infrared payloads.
- Experience in circuit ware / algorithm development, particularly in Mission Data Processing.
- Experience managing IRAD giver/receiver relationships.
- Direct responsibility for major subcontracts.
Current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access; U.S. citizenship required.

Annual base salary ranges from $157,800 – $278,185 for selected states, and from $181,400 – $314,525 for major metropolitan areas. Salary is determined by experience, education, and market considerations.
