Job Summary

Fabricator
Company:
Daifuku – a U.S.–based provider of intelligent material handling systems that designs, manufactures, integrates, and installs conveyor and sortation systems, robotics, mezzanines, and structures.
Work Hours:
3rd Shift, Monday - Friday, 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM (Full Time)
- Operate fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
- Read job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
- Position work pieces against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
- Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- Detect workpiece defects and machine malfunctions.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from work pieces.
- Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
- Comply with Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
- Ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement for industry performance and customer satisfaction.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of standard and metric measurements.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and self‑inspection techniques.
- Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented.
- Team orientation.
- LOTO certification required.
- Crane operation certification required.
- Forklift operation experience preferred but not required.
- Availability to work Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Medium work:
Exert up to 50 lb occasionally, up to 20 lb frequently, up to 10 lb constantly to move objects. - Reaching/Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing upright on the feet for sustained periods.
- Walking/moving on foot to accomplish tasks, especially for long distances.
- Pushing:
Using upper extremities to press with steady force, thrusting forward, downward, or outward. - Pulling:
Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects. - Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally. - Grasping:
Applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm. - Hearing:
Perceiving normal speaking levels with or without correction. - Vision:
Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, analyzing data, inspecting small defects, operating machines, and using measurement devices.
- Indoor environment protection from weather, but not necessarily temperature changes.
- Hazards include proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or chemicals.
