WELLNESS EDUCATION SPECIALIST
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Dade Correctional Institution in the Education Department.

Wellness Specialists
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Leads the dynamic Wellness Education program, planning, administering, and teaching engaging classroom activities for inmates.
- Supervises and coordinates exciting recreational activities, ensuring security and direct supervision for all participants.
- Collaborates with medical and security staff to create impactful wellness programs that support the social recovery of inmates.
- Monitors and assesses inmate interests, transforming assessments into actionable goals and performance tasks to enhance wellness education.
- Organizes and oversees special events and competitive wellness activities, including coordinating with outside groups for recreational and cultural experiences.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
