Central Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LP/VN) to provide full-time services at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a great opportunity for LP/VNs to support our military and their families as federal civilian contractors.

Compensation Details- Pay: $30 per hour
- H&W: $5.09 per hour
- PTO: 80 hours accrued annually
- Sick leave: 56 hours accrued annually
- Holidays: 11 paid annually

Education:
Graduation from a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program or completion of equivalent military training that permits sitting for the State licensure examination. - Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience within the last two (2) years as a licensed practical or vocational nurse, after graduation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA
- Prepare patients for special procedures.
- Perform Foley catheterization on adult and pediatric patients as appropriate for clinical area.
- Perform irrigations of eyes, ears, stomachs, abscesses and wounds. Perform technical procedures such as shunt care, insertion and maintenance of NG tubes, Hickman Catheter Care, changing IV tubing and dressing as appropriate for clinical care area and in accordance with unit SOPs. Perform care and maintenance of drainage tubes.
- Perform suctioning of patients. Draw lab work independently when directed to do so. Correctly perform point of care testing and other authorized satellite laboratory procedures. Ensure laboratory specimens are correctly labeled, and laboratory slips correctly completed.
- Assist with special procedures, as appropriate in specialty clinics or on the units. Document inpatient record and other required forms such as Intake and Output, TPR graphic, and nursing notes. Use computerized information systems as required. Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions.
- Use and maintain simple and complex diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, cardiac monitor, digital readout, hemodynamic monitoring systems, infusion pumps, central venous lines, respiratory ventilator) to obtain and/or validate observations and provide for the care of all patients.
- Recognize and respond to serious alterations in patient’s condition, determine appropriate action to include notification of the Registered Nurse/Physician, airway management and initiation of CPR.
- May be assigned or rotated between inpatient wards, clinics, and specialized units.
