Short-term acute care unit (PCU) with cross-coverage as needed
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients in the PCU, including assessment, monitoring, and timely intervention.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policy; document care in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, rehabilitation specialists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans.
- Monitor patient status for changes in condition, respond to deteriorations, and elevate promptly to the care team as appropriate.
- Float as needed to ICU, PCU, and MS areas to maintain unit coverage while preserving patient safety and care quality.
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and transition care as part of the care continuum.
- Active Hawaii RN license required prior to start date.
- Ability to float between ICU, PCU, and MS areas as needed.
- Rotating shifts required.
- Weekend availability may be required (consecutive weekends if needed).
- Background and clinical competencies appropriate for a PCU/step-down setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acuity-based environment and adhere to facility policies.
Holiday billing policy:
Holiday pay applies when a scheduled shift begins on the holiday. For example, if a shift starts at 11:00 p.m. on a holiday and ends at 11:00 a.m. the following day, the entire shift is paid at the holiday rate. If a shift begins before the holiday and ends during the holiday period, no holiday rate will be assessed.
