We are looking for a Principal Analyst to join our Americas Gulf of Mexico Upstream Team in Houston. Our dedicated oil and gas sector teams are located around the world, and deliver research and consulting projects based on our assessment and valuation of thousands of individual assets. Together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks and institutional investors.

You are passionate about upstream oil and gas and have built an in-depth understanding of the energy sector in your current or previous roles. You have an analytical, commercial mindset and an eye for detail. You also understand the big picture, which enables you to analyse and form clear, coherent conclusions from a variety of data and information. You find it easy communicating complex or technical information and delivering messages that are easily understood. You thrive in a collaborative, commercial and client-centric environment.

You have a proven track record of fostering strong working relationships including coaching, influencing and developing others around you. Delivering quality is your key driver and this is embedded in your team, making you credible with colleagues and clients. About the role

You will join a team of analysts and subject matter experts that provide comprehensive and thought-provoking research on the deepwater upstream industry. You will be adept at valuing oil and gas assets, and understand the key issues that inform that valuation. You will also form opinions on corporate strategies, business environment, exploration, M&A deals, petroleum economics, government energy policy and regional geopolitics. A large part of the role is sharing and presenting data and informed views to clients and industry,

You will be able to prioritise what matters to clients and the team, having regular interaction with senior business stakeholders. Your focus will be to champion change, fostering an open, innovative and dynamic team environment. You will ensure that we embrace new technologies or techniques to improve data processes and workflow. You will also work with client management and consulting to generate new research, sales and consulting opportunities.
