The Contracting Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting agent onboarding and carrier contracting while owning the resolution of complex, escalated, and non-standard contracting and commission‑related issues. This role combines hands‑on contracting execution with investigative analysis, data validation, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Serving as a primary liaison between Contracting, Commissions, Sales, and Broker Relations, the Contracting Operations Analyst evaluates contracting data across multiple systems, identifies root causes of discrepancies, and drives timely, effective solutions.
This position requires strong independent judgment, exceptional attention to detail, and a solutions‑oriented mindset to ensure agents are properly contracted, compliant with carrier requirements, and paid accurately and on time.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for agents regarding complex contracting matters, including appointment issues, carrier escalations, and non‑standard contracting scenarios; clearly communicate resolution steps, required documentation, and realistic timelines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Ensure all contracting requirements are met accurately and on time, including agent licenses, E&O coverage, training certifications, carrier‑specific documentation, and internal compliance standards; proactively identify and resolve gaps to prevent downstream commission or compliance issues.
- Act as the primary liaison between Contracting and Commissions teams, facilitating clear communication, aligning records across systems, and ensuring contracting‑related issues impacting agent compensation are addressed efficiently and accurately.
- Investigate commission discrepancies tied to contracting issues, including missing or delayed carrier appointments, incorrect effective dates, agent hierarchy or writing number errors, and carrier setup discrepancies; document findings and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and carrier partners.
- Process agent contracts and carrier appointments, ensuring all submissions are complete, accurate, and submitted in accordance with carrier timelines and requirements; verify appointment approval and update records accordingly.
- Analyze data across multiple systems, including CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), carrier portals, contracting databases, and commission reports, to support issue resolution, audits, and operational reporting.
- Audit agent contracts, carrier appointments, and related records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and carrier standards; identify discrepancies and take corrective action as needed.
- Validate contracting data across systems, reconciling CRM records, carrier portals, and commission statements to identify inconsistencies, root causes, and systemic process gaps.
- Identify recurring trends or systemic issues related to contracting or commissions and provide recommendations to leadership to improve processes, controls, and data integrity.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing agents, serving as a trusted operational resource and supporting contract expansion, cross‑contracting, and sales growth opportunities where appropriate.
- Review RTS (Ready‑to‑Sell) status and evaluate agency contracts, ensuring agents meet carrier and internal requirements prior to selling and receiving commissions.
