Job Summary

Project Engineer II responsible for developing and maintaining timely and accurate technical engineering support and managing assigned projects closely with all business unit departments.

Your Responsibilities
  • Analyze project specifications and performance requirements to determine the appropriate equipment design.
  • Provide engineering and technical support to the Project Management team on Original Equipment projects.
  • Provide technical support to the Aftermarket team as needed.
  • Provide technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations.
  • Confere with other personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop suitable product designs.
  • Create and review technical datasheets (regular and ISF formats).
  • Review general arrangement and detailed drawings.
  • Direct preparation of product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
  • Evaluate and approve structural designs as necessary.
  • Provide analytical calculations to ensure that the equipment is in accordance with governing codes and regulations.
  • Participate in new product or product development strategies.
  • Travel to customer or vendor sites as necessary to participate in meetings or inspections.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new trends.
  • Complete project-specific engineering output for assigned projects, including the creation of all equipment specifications, production of drawings, and review of Bills of Material.
  • Interface directly with vendors, customers, consulting engineers, and representatives regarding project engineering issues.
  • Other job duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • BS degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • 5-7 years engineering experience.
  • Experience interfacing with marketing, sales, manufacturing, and vendors regarding solution of product problems and translation of customer requirements into product specifications.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and analytical engineering skills in the application of technologies to new projects.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles to achieve goals and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to travel, as required.
  • Experience using MS Office, Excel, and other normal business software.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD (2‑D and 3‑D).
Travel Requirements

Travel required – estimated to be no more than 25% of working hours.

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention; perform complex tasks with high accuracy and quality specifications.
  • Job is performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
Sedentary Work

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
