Expected salary range$102,600 to $114,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Primary Purpose of PositionThe Senior Analyst, Credit Risk is responsible for a credit portfolio within the designated regions and for assessing and analyzing retail power and gas credit issues for the retail supply business. The role requires an advanced understanding of the physical and financial products offered by the Company and the marketplace so as to properly assess and monitor counter party credit/risk issues. It involves close collaboration with Sales, Operations, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Treasury and Corporate Risk as well as maintaining strong partnerships across the organization.
PrimaryDuties and Accountabilities
- Assess and analyze the credit worthiness of customers and trading counter parties, and monitor current and potential exposures.
- Recommend credit terms and conditions within customer and wholesale commodity contracts.
- Coordinate with the margining and treasury teams on counterpart collateral including cash, letters of credit and parental guarantees, and with the Receivables team to monitor aged receivables to ensure timely collection.
- Assist on presentations to Senior Management that include credit decisions and recommendations, while highlighting top credit risks within the organization.
- As directed by Credit leadership, lead the coordination, maintenance, and implementation of improved reporting and functionality of Credit Risk systems.
- Manage credit relationships with counter parties.
- Bachelor's degree in Business and 5 years of experience, or 9 years of equivalent experience in lieu of the degree.
- 5 years of relevant position experience.
- Strong computer and spreadsheet modeling skills.
- Thorough understanding of credit analysis, credit and risk management fundamentals.
- Advanced understanding of Mark to Market calculations and valuations of forward contract positions.
- Experience with financial concepts, financial markets and wholesale energy markets, energy commodities markets, hedging and/or position management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Master's Degree in Business.
- Completion of formal credit training program.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively and manage workload efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and business stakeholders.
- Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing and work effectively across business units, functional groups, multiple levels of the Corporation and external stakeholders.
