Job Overview
Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Installation and Service Technician to support our fire protection and security solutions across various industries worldwide.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain installed systems, including panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, low voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing.
- Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels.
- Organize and utilize technical resources, information, and materials to execute tasks efficiently.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to complete assignments.
- Maintain accurate documentation, task logs, and activity reports in a timely manner.
- Support on‑call and after‑hours work requirements to meet customer needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound, and communications systems.
- Valid Fire Alarm License required.
- Programming experience for proprietary systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Proficiency with computers; ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical capability to lift 50‑70 lbs and work in challenging positions (ladders, ducts, crawl spaces, up to 40 ft).
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, overnight travel, and mandatory on‑call duties.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record meeting company standards.
- Retention of required National, State, and Local licenses.
- Preferred:
Technical training (NICET II or similar) or ability to obtain within first year.
Hourly rate: $25.96 – $32.69, commensurate with experience, skills, and market data. This role also includes a competitive benefits package: paid vacation (10 days the first year, plus sick time), holidays, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and employee discount programs.
