Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Media Negotiator works alongside a team of negotiators to insure media schedules are running correctly for all clients within their team. The position supports all data entry tasks that are needed for each client team, as well as department needs. Focus is also placed on requesting and evaluating important media reports, as well as assisting in the creation and maintenance of client and department templates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintains all spot times logs for clients

· Requests and reviews pre and post logs from cable, broadcast and local networks; contacts media representatives for resolution when necessary

· Notifies team of any issues that arise daily with any account

· Processes and pulls Netcost reports

· Monitors Sigma reports

· Requests research reports as needed

· Builds templates for client teams

· Creation and maintenance of client schedules

· Assists in revising client spot length splits

· Manages media tracking sheets

· Attends internal client meetings

· Shadows negotiators on planning and negotiating

· Identifies discrepancies and make goods to negotiators; gathers feedback for proper resolution

· Insures a fair and equitable distribution of spots according to daypart, day of week, and program

· Sends spot log reports and summaries to the Client or Negotiator as requested

· Creates reports in Excel for the Negotiator and/or the Account Executive as requested

· Verifies contracts and post analysis letters from each network

· Establishes and maintains goodwill and working relationships with the media community

· Participates in meetings with media representatives when requested by the Media Negotiator

· Acts as back-up receptionist when needed and in the absence of the receptionist/administrative assistants. General receptionist duties include: answering phones, greeting visitors and other reception-related tasks

· Follows all company health and safety procedures

· Performs other related duties as required or assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred; but not required

General knowledge of Microsoft Excel
