Risk Manager/Analyst
Optimum First is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to support and lead a team of high-producing loan officers. This is a hands-on leadership role, designed for a strong loan officer who can coach, problem solve, and support top producers while also working closely with Operations and Leadership. The Sales Manager will serve as the main point of contact and escalation resource for loan officers and helps ensure they are supported, informed, and positioned for success.
This role requires strong mortgage knowledge, credibility, and the ability to build trust-based relationships.
- Serve as the primary support and escalation point for assigned team of loan officers.
- Provide daily coaching, guidance, and support to help loan officers increase production and income.
- Assist with complex loan scenarios, borrower and agent agreements, and internal escalations.
- Maintain consistent communication and availability to ensure loan officers feel supported.
- Coach loan officers on sales strategy, pricing conversations, objection handling, and borrower communications.
- Reinforce best practices, scripts, and standard procedures.
- Support onboarding and development of new loan officers and provide ongoing coaching to existing producers
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Conventional, Government (FHA, VA, USDA), and Non-QM lending.
- Provide guidance on underwriting guidelines, income, credit, assets, and loan structuring.
- Stay current on guideline changes, overlays, and market conditions.
- Collaborate closely with Processing, Underwriting, Lock Desk, Compliance, Funding, and Post-Close to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Act as the Sales-side liaison for operational challenges and help drive efficient resolution.
- Uphold company standards, compliance requirements, and ethical expectations.
- Ensure loan officers follow established procedures while balancing the independence of 1099 contractors with accountability.
- 5-7 years of mortgage origination experience
- Proven success as a producing loan officer
- Strong knowledge of Conventional, Government, and Non-QM products
- Prior experience coaching or supporting loan officers, preferred
- Ability to manage escalations, strong communication skills, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
