Kubernetes L3 Engineer

Position: Kubernetes  L3 Engineer
The Kubernetes L3 Engineer will be responsible for the advanced management automation and troubleshooting of containerized infrastructures with a strong focus on Azure Kubernetes Service AKS and Container Apps.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service AKS clusters, Azure Container Apps, and containerized workloads across environments.
Perform troubleshooting and resolution for complex issues related to Kubernetes clusters, networking, ingress controllers, and scheduling.
Implement and manage automation workflows through Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks.
Oversee CICD pipeline execution and integration using Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops.
Lead and coordinate resolution during critical P1P2 incidents, managing technical bridges and client communications.
Perform Kubernetes upgrades, patching, and configuration optimization to ensure reliability and compliance.
Collaborate with Dev Ops, Cloud, and Application teams to integrate container platforms with build and deployment processes.
Design and implement monitoring, logging solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Azure Monitor.
Apply cloud-native security practices and implement RBAC, secrets management, and compliance configurations.
Maintain and optimize resource utilization, autoscaling, and workload balancing within Kubernetes environments.
Document all operational processes, technical designs, and issue resolutions.
Mentor L1 and L2 teams on Kubernetes troubleshooting, CICD integration, and incident response.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Kubernetes certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) preferred.
Microsoft certifications like Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect desirable.
Terraform Associate certification or equivalent IaC experience preferred.
ITIL Foundation certification is an added advantage.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes infrastructure administration including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Good understanding of Azure Container Apps and other PaaS container orchestrations.
Proficiency in IaC with Terraform and configuration management automation tools.
In-depth knowledge of CICD pipeline management using Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, or Git Hub Actions.
Skilled in troubleshooting Kubernetes components such as pods, services, deployments, and ingress controllers.
Expertise in Helm chart management and Kubernetes upgrades.
Familiarity with Azure cloud services like ACR, VNet integration, network policies, and managed identities.
Knowledge of container registry management, image security scanning, and deployment best practices.

Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and integrations.
Proven ability to lead troubleshooting and resolution during P1P2 incidents with cross-team coordination.
Understanding of ITIL-based operations, change, incident, and problem management.

Preferred Skills

Strong documentation skills to maintain SOPs, architecture diagrams, and RCA reports.
Clear and effective communication skills for client interactions, incident bridges, and stakeholder updates.
Ability to lead P1P2 incident calls under pressure, ensuring transparency and structured resolution.
Proactive and analytical mindset for identifying performance bottlenecks and process improvements.
Team leadership and mentoring ability to guide L1/L2 engineers.
Cross-functional collaboration skills for working with Cloud, Network, and Dev Ops teams.
