Technician, Janitorial

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Technician, Janitorial to join our Thompson Creek team. In this role, you will be responsible for routine and scheduled cleaning of company houses and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning rooms, including dust mopping, damp mopping, and sweeping.
• Cleaning restrooms, restocking dispensers, emptying trash, sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot‑cleaning doors and walls, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
• Using bleach and other disinfectants to disinfect and sanitize rooms, restrooms, and frequently touched surfaces.
• Performing minor repairs such as unclogging toilets and replacing light bulbs.
• Operating floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment, and maintaining cleaning equipment.
• Reporting any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
• Emptying trashcans and replacing liners.
• Restocking rooms with clean linens.
• Setting up, stocking, and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Cleaning and washing dirty linens—including towels, bedding, and kitchen towels.
• Ensuring the facility is safe and secure, including locking doors and windows and reporting safety hazards to management.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometres southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.

In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open‑pit mining methods with large electric‑powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.
