Job Description:

WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment s storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties, perform shipping and receiving work, order filling, or operating forklifts.

Physical & Technical Requirements

Due to the nature of warehouse operations, the following requirements apply to this position.

Literacy & Comprehension

Must possess the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written instructions, technical manuals, and safety protocols (equivalent to a secondary education level) to ensure operational safety and inventory accuracy.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods during inventory and restocking cycles.

Equipment Operation

Proficiency (or ability to be trained) in the operation of material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts.

Logistics Software

Ability to enter and track data within localized inventory management systems to maintain Project Funds Accountability.

The Warehouse Specialist Must Have

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma
• Experience:
  
  3+ years of related experience
• Technical skills: inventory management, attention to detail, organizational skills
• Security clearance level: must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
• US citizenship required
