The Design Engineer role is responsible for preparing detailed engineering diagrams of manufactured products, machinery and mechanical equipment or devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.

• Generate, evaluate, and analyze design concepts utilizing a fact‑based approach.
• Develop detailed models, drawings, and specifications for mechanical equipment, using computer‑assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
• Prototype and test design concepts.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing team members and with customers to design and layout detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
• Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer‑assisted equipment.
• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Interface with customers and customer service representatives to assist with troubleshooting, plan for projects, and gather feedback.
• Layout, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or similar (preferred). Minimum Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years’ related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D modelling (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
• Drafting and design skills with metal fabrication. A plus if experience in material handling equipment and grain systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 5‑10% of the time.
