The Nursery Technician is responsible for maintaining the vegetation cycle of all sustainable plants within the facility. Cannabis is a heavily regulated industry; therefore, all employees are required to follow safety and compliance regulations.
Responsibilities- Caring for plants in the vegetative state in the mom, clone or veg room.
- Transplanting, cutting clones, watering, trimming, bottoming, topping, pruning, defoliating, and related plant maintenance activities.
- Recognize requirements associated with the strain, growth patterns and identify anomalies within the plants.
- Participate in all aspects of plant maintenance as needed for cultivation.
- Report issues to Leadership to ensure timely fixes or solutions.
- Use dexterity, coordination, and precision to perform plant maintenance activities including defoliation and pruning.
- Meet production goals while maintaining safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Maintain open communication with Leadership and co-workers.
- Clean and sanitize flower rooms, benches, irrigation systems, and related areas to ensure cleanliness.
- Interpret and follow cultivation schedules and department work instructions and SOPs.
- Be aware of hazards in the workspace.
- Retain and understand department-specific training.
- Report safety incidents/ concerns and comply with follow-up actions.
- Comply with area safety requirements, state regulations and PPE requirements.
- Follow GMP, biosecurity, sanitation or other quality and compliance requirements.
- Perform record keeping accurately as directed by a lead or supervisor.
- Maintain and calibrate tools, equipment and machinery as directed by a lead or supervisor.
- Report and escalate safety & quality concerns.
- Regularly required to reach, grasp, bend, stoop, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs and work from elevated platforms.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods while maintaining focus.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds with care when handling product.
- Must be able to work in an environment that is 85+ degrees and 70% humidity for extended periods.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).
- Associate's degree or Certifications preferred
- Prior experience in manufacturing or a fast-paced environment
- Ability to utilize simple math for calculations
- High focus and attention to detail
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by a manager or lead
- Prior cannabis experience not required
- Must be at a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must possess valid state
- Must be able to obtain and maintain state badging requirements to work in the cannabis industry (background check and state review)
The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
