Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and attentive individual to ensure the safety and well-being of students while they are transported on school buses. The Bus Monitor will work to assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment, promoting positive behavior among students, and addressing any issues that may arise during transit.
Responsibilities- Supervise students while they board and disembark from the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment during transportation.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce rules to promote a respectful and safe atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents.
- Report any issues or incidents to the appropriate school authorities promptly.
- Provide assistance to students with special needs as required.
- Conduct regular checks of the bus to ensure it is clean and free of hazards.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in a supervisory role is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening as required.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
- Ability to lift and assist students when necessary.
