Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of financial activity related to Howdy Homemade Ice Cream. This position supports the day-to-day accounting functions and plays a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

• Record and manage daily sales activity for Howdy Homemade Ice Cream in the accounting system
• Review and track sales and use tax data for quarterly filings
• Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly invoices
• Perform reconciliations of ledgers and external financial accounts
• Support the month-end close process and assist with financial reporting
• Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable balances
• Coordinate with the store manager on inventory tracking and store-related expenses
• Maintain and update lease records and lease-related accounting entries
• Provide support on special projects and during audits or financial reviews as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail or multi-entity environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
• Experience using accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude
