The Operator will work in the Indianapolis Device Assembly and Packaging plant where Lilly products for domestic and international markets are assembled and packaged. The primary purpose of the job is to assemble and package products.
Key Objectives / Deliverables- Adhere to IDAP Site safety policies and procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Setup and operations of equipment in assembly, labeling, and packaging areas.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure quality of product.
- Document process steps on appropriate batch documentation.
- Attain and maintain qualification for the operation of assigned process equipment and duties in the area.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Proactively monitor documentation and product quality, properly documenting all activity and reporting issues to supervision.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Completion of Work Simulation and must pass a “fitness for duty” physical exam, which includes safely lifting up to or more than 20 lbs.

- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills, with the capability to learn in more detail.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
- Experience with cGMP environment.
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Curiosity and technical abilities/troubleshooting.
- Manufacturing has multiple shifts. Most are 12‑hour, operating on a 3‑2‑2‑3 schedule.
- This specific role is hiring for both day and night shifts.
- Initial training may require the candidate to work a different schedule for a period of time, before moving to their permanent shift.
- Some overtime work may be required.
- Some of the products in manufacturing operations are known allergens and consequently, a post‑offer allergy test may be required.
- Employees are required to wear safety equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes, protective gloves, etc.).
- Training provided to move materials around with a manual pallet jack, a motorized walkie‑stacker pallet jack, and a motorized pallet jack.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years, extended annually up to four years and employed directly by Eli Lilly. It includes a competitive benefits package.
Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $17.30 – $34.38.
