Overview
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position based in US-IN-Indianapolis. This role involves performing repairs and installations of pumps, pipes, storage and process tanks, forklifts, and other equipment related to waste treatment processes and material handling across the facility.
Responsibilities- Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
- Perform plant maintenance including general repair and replacement of pumps, valves, piping and hoses as needed, including basic pipe fitting and pipe threading.
- Lubricate pumps, mixers, motors and other equipment; replace grease fittings and oilers as needed.
- Diagnose, repair, rebuild or replace process pumps (centrifugal, air diaphragm, progressive cavity, rotary lobe, etc.).
- Perform coating repairs as needed.
- Operate forklift to load and unload parts and equipment.
- Maintain and refills filter urns; replace insulation and stream tracing on pumps and lines as needed.
- Keep operating areas, walls, pipes, and floors clean and safe.
- Perform standard mechanical preventative maintenance for the facility.
- Identify inventory needs and report to supervisor for ordering.
- Follow OSHA and company procedures for lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work, pipeline breaking and related processes.
- Serve as an active member of the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT); ensure mechanical shutdown in case of an emergency.
- Wear appropriate PPE including respirator, gloves, boots, and protective suit when working with chemicals.
- Maintain ability to provide coverage on weekends on a rotating schedule.
- Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
- High-school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience (required)
-OR- - Technical certifications or degrees may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Previous experience with pump rebuilding and pipe fitting (preferred).
