Location: Haven Centre, Murray Road, Smithton, IV2 7YU

Hours: 0.5 FTE (approx. 18–20 hours per week)

Salary: up to £14,000

Type: Paid role

We are looking for a Facilities Coordinator to help ensure that the Haven Centre remains safe, functional and welcoming for all participants, staff and partner organisations. This role is an important part of the day‑to‑day running of the centre and supports the delivery of activities, respite services and community use of the building.

The role

The Facilities Coordinator will support the upkeep and smooth running of the Haven Centre, including general maintenance, minor repairs, setting up spaces for sessions, and assisting with health and safety compliance.

What you will be doing
  • Carry out routine building maintenance and minor repairs
  • Support the set‑up and breakdown of sessions and activities
  • Prepare rooms for partner‑led sessions and community hires
  • Monitor and report health and safety issues, including equipment safety and emergency procedures
  • Assist with building security, including opening and closing the centre
  • Undertake general upkeep tasks including painting, furniture repair and basic grounds maintenance
  • Work with staff and partner organisations to ensure the facility meets accessibility and operational needs
  • Maintain equipment and supplies inventory and report when replacements are required
What we are looking for Essential
  • Practical experience in building maintenance, DIY or facilities work
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
  • Good problem‑solving skills
Desirable
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles (PVG and training will be provided)
  • Experience in community, charity or specialist support environments
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessment
