Special Security Technician - Junior

Purpose and Impact

This position is contingent upon award of contract, business needs and funding availability. We are seeking a motivated Junior Special Security Technician to support Air Combat Command (ACC) security programs, including Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Special Access Programs (SAP), and collateral security functions.

The selected candidate will assist with personnel, physical, industrial, and information security activities under the guidance of senior security professionals. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) security processes while supporting mission‑critical operations.

• Assist in the daily operation of the Special Security Office (SSO) and SCI security program administration.
• Support implementation of DoD, IC, and Air Force security directives and policies.
• Maintain security reference materials, guidance documents, and program files.
• Provide administrative and technical support to security program activities.
• Support personnel security processes, including submission and tracking of clearance requests in DISS and assisting with nomination packages and access validations.
• Maintain personnel security records, access rosters, and accountability systems.
• Process Non‑Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and access documentation.
• Assist with ensuring SCIF and SAPF compliance with applicable security standards (e.g., ICD 705).
• Apply classification guidelines and handling procedures for sensitive and classified information.
• Support delivery of security education and training programs.

The position supports sensitive operations and demands strict adherence to IC analytic standards, information security requirements, and professional ethics.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of DoD and IC classification guidelines and handling procedures.
• Ability to work semi‑independently under supervision and follow established procedures.
• Working knowledge of classification and security handling procedures.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to evaluate and organize information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Exposure to SCI/SAP security environments.
• Familiarity with DISS and personnel security processes.
• Proficiency with standard office tools.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

• Willingness to comply with all DoD, Air Force, and IC security and conduct standards.
• Ability to complete and maintain required training throughout contract performance.
• Availability to support CONUS and OCONUS missions as required.
• Responsible for maintaining qualifications and training unless Government‑directed.

TS/SCI eligibility with a favorable Tier 5 (T5) investigation, some positions may require successful completion of a CI‑scope polygraph examination.

Associate’s degree from an accredited institution OR an additional 2 years of related experience in lieu of a degree (for a total of 5 years’ experience).

3 years of relevant experience in security administration, intelligence support, or related field, with some experience within the last 2 years.

• Basic understanding of ICD 705, ICD 503, or NIST security frameworks.
• Experience supporting DoD or Air Force organizations.
• Interest in developing expertise in security program management.
