Quality Assistant

Hours - Mon-Fri: 8am-4:30pm Flexible for overtime as needed

Start your career with Bodycote and ensure our quality standards are implemented and maintained for customers in the aerospace & general industrial industries.  Quality is essential at Bodycote.  You will support the Quality Department in all areas while working closely with the Quality Manager to gain new skills.  In addition, you will:


•Analyzes all submitted documentation prior to shipment of customer parts.
•Accurately prepares and completes certifications prior to shipment and corrected certs as needed.
•Maintains quality system database, with a good understanding of ISO 9000/AS9100/NADCAP.
•Performs internal audits.
•Obtain and Maintain critical customer certifications (DSQR/LCS).
•Manages, Schedules and arranges all outside testing services.
•Manages Calibration of all Quality Instruments.
•Reviews certifications and inspects incoming raw materials as required.
•Reviews and revises process documentation as required. Makes recommendations for improvements to process documentation.
•Maintains Quality records.
•Prepares responses to Internal and External Corrective/Preventative Actions.
•Develops and implements inspection and acceptance procedures.
•Determines and documents outside testing requirements and arranges testing with outside vendors.
•Assists Quality Manager as needed or required.
•Brings any irregularities, discrepancies or concerns to supervisor immediately.
•Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
•Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
•Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
•Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
•This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.


We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications
•This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
•Education – Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
•Minimum working experience in thermal processing, metallurgy, customer specifications, etc.
•Blueprint reading preferred.
•Two years preferred in quality organization in industries such as heat treating, manufacturing, metallurgy, aerospace and/or military specifications by education or experience.
•Must possess strong verbal communication skills, professional and patient style in dealing with customers and staff.
•Must be precise and detail oriented.
•Must be able to work overtime as required.
•Must have knowledge by experience or training of basic math.
•Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
•Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.


This position requires the following physical and mental demands consisting of, but not limited to the following:
•Must be able to work in a sitting and/or standing position for extended periods of time in an office/industrial environment.
•Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
•Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
•May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
•Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
•Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
•Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
•Ability to hear in person and via phone.
