Quality Assurance Engineer (JN - Irwindale, California

The Quality Technician ensures materials and products are defect-free, meet internal specifications, and comply with external guidelines. This detail-focused role involves performing chemical and physical tests, auditing and reviewing product quality data, identifying defective materials, and recommending corrective actions. The technician supports manufacturing processes by implementing quality control procedures, investigating product complaints, and reporting deviations. They collaborate with department heads to resolve issues and improve processes, maintain nonconformance records, and perform audits.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Implement company and regulatory quality standards.
  • Perform and evaluate tests to control production or assess product quality.
  • Audit product quality data and maintain records of complaints and corrective actions.
  • Investigate and resolve product quality issues in line with guidelines.
  • Develop and update quality control procedures.
  • Recommend process improvements and assist with technical projects.
  • Identify and manage defective materials, ensuring proper disposition.
  • Conduct process audits and address systemic manufacturing issues.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, chemistry, or related field; or 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience (preferably industrial manufacturing).
  • Strong knowledge of quality terminology, methods, and tools.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, perform statistical calculations, and apply geometric principles.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and overtime as needed.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to walk around the plant, navigate stairs, and sit for extended durations.
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 15 lbs.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check and drug screening.
