Technician, Maintenance Utility, JKO

Position Overview

This position assists maintenance resources within the Maintenance Department, coordinating maintenance activities, scheduling, SAP enhancements, inventory management, and implementing new maintenance requirements. The role supports the Maintenance Supervisor to optimize plant reliability and reduce maintenance expenses.

• Assist Maintenance Supervisor to develop the maintenance team in HSE management principles and play a key role in improving HSE performance and establishing safe working practices.
• Assist in the implementation of specific HSE tactical plans in the maintenance area, ensuring maintenance technicians use proper PPE.
• Assist the Maintenance Utility Technician in issuing daily and weekly maintenance work schedules and monthly activity forecasts.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a diverse set of cross‑functional groups.
• Attend Weekly Work Order Review Meetings and Capital Review Meetings.
• Review plant KPIs involving Maintenance/Reliability.
• Document and record all activities via SAP.
• Anticipate potential problems to avoid production downtime.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and determine/implement corrective actions.
• Assist with preventive, predictive maintenance and scheduled repairs/overhauls to ensure optimum production and utilization levels.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with daily production reporting, reasons for deviations, and actions.
• Assist with daily staffing requirements and activities for team members.
• Assist with PM/PdM schedule accuracy and accurate completion of all work orders.
• Support maintenance performance that achieves OEE targets.
• Manage problem solving and corrective action in continuous performance improvements.
• Ensure completion of work orders in a timely manner and jobs are completed right the first time.
• Evaluate team members and give performance feedback regularly.

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Minimum of two years at an S4 maintenance level role.
• Understanding of JKO’s production/maintenance processes.
• Strong trust‑building, integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and the ability to multitask and make swift decisions.
• Detail‑oriented, methodical work, and ability to handle interruptions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective people skills, interfacing daily with all organizational levels.
• Strong time‑management, leadership, decision‑making, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Experience with planning, scheduling, and execution in maintenance and project processes.
• Proficiency in Critical Path Methodology (CPM) for job plan evaluation.
