Shipping & Receiving Clerk (United States – Ooltewah, TN, Onsite)

Responsibilities
  • Use Syteline and SAP to prepare documentation for all domestic and international ground and air shipments.
  • Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixtures, crates, and on pallets as instructed.
  • Work with safe work practices to ensure own safety as well as co-workers’ safety.
  • Follow procedures for assigning inventory locations to parts, as well as delivering job orders.
  • Operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner to move material.
  • Complete inspections before routing goods to individual departments or storage in proper locations.
  • Pick jobs and deliver parts to specified departments.
  • Verify accuracy of orders, initiate corrections, and perform invoicing transactions.
  • Notify specific individuals of parts shortages, late work orders, incorrect bills of material, purchasing or sales errors, missing prints, missing parts, etc.
  • Complete necessary paperwork on a daily basis including computer transactions using specific forms and procedures dealing with inventory movement through the department.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and check against them.
  • Conduct cycle counts, troubleshoot errors, and kit/move product along production area.
  • Perform manual lifting and movement of boxes, totes, and other containers weighing up to 33 lbs.
  • Perform all 5S duties and maintain acceptable 5S standards.
  • Perform all other duties as required to meet customer and company quality and productivity needs.
Experience and Requirements

You are a curious problem solver who can bring big ideas to life. You are creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease. You are agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we always deliver top‑notch customer experiences. You also possess:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Proven ability to operate forklifts safely.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute percentages.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies/procedures/department guidelines/safety rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with co‑workers, departments, supervisors, and customers/vendors as job dictates.
  • Work under minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolve problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or policy/procedure form.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Styeline or other MRP Production Management Software helpful.
  • Forklift certified or ability to complete Epiroc-approved forklift certification program.
  • Must be able to read and write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
  • Ability to assist production with assembly and machine completions.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem‑solving skills and interpersonal skills.
