We are seeking a candidate with a strong background inhazardous materials transportation safety and chemical industry environmental compliance. This individual will oversee safety and regulatory compliance across both our bulk hazmat transportation operations and chemical facility operations.
Key experience requirements that go with the job description.
Hazmat Transportation Safety (FMCSA / PHMSA)
The candidate must have direct experience managing safety programs within a hazmat transportation fleet, not just general trucking or warehouse safety.
Experience should include oversight of:
Driver Qualification Files Drug & Alcohol programs
Hours of Service compliance
DOT inspections and CSA BASIC monitoring
Hazmat driver training and regulatory compliance
Chemical Industry Environmental Compliance Experience managing environmental and safety programs within a chemical manufacturing, distribution, or hazardous materials facility.
Familiarity with:
SARA Tier II reporting
Hazard Communication programs
EPA inspections and compliance
SPCC plans
Chemical storage and handling regulations
Regulatory Audit Leadership Proven experience preparing for and managing regulatory audits including:
DOT audits
EPA inspections
OSHA inspections
Industry compliance programs (ACD Responsible Distribution or similar)
Multi-Site Safety Leadership This role oversees both transportation and facility operations across multiple locations. The candidate should have experience implementing safety and environmental programs across multiple terminals or facilities and multiple states.
Incident Investigation & Risk Management Demonstrated ability to reduce incidents through:
Root cause investigations
Safety program development
Driver coaching and accountability programs
Data-driven safety performance monitoring
Salary $75,000/year - $95,000/year (based on experience)
You should be proficient in:
Hazardous Materials Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification Workplace Safety & EHS Management
DOT & Equipment Inspection Compliance
