Position: Dock Lead (E Shift, W16)

Sit Down Forklift Experience REQUIRED

Shift schedule: E-Shift;
Sunday - Wednesday / 4:00PM - 12:30AM

Pay:
Hourly ($22.00)

All new Material Handlers and Material Handler Leads will participate in a four‑step wage progression program, receiving an automatic $0.50 hourly increase every 90 days over a one‑year period (effective April
6).

Job Purpose

Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly; provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities. Ensure that Material Handlers operate forklift and walkie equipment safely, following all safety policies and procedures. This position reports to the shift supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Properly receive, unload, move, and tag incoming parts and equipment.
  • Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), QMS (Quality Management Systems) and Lean Warehousing.
  • Operate material handling equipment and use an RF scanner.
  • Pull and stage parts for production and complete requisitions for parts shortages.
  • Collect and properly package inventory and purchased items needing shipment.
  • Comply with the company's safety policies while using lifting devices (forklifts and scissor lifts) and maintain clean initiation standards.
  • Learn day‑to‑day warehouse operations.
  • Verify orders are complete and accurate.
  • Pick each customer order in the most effective manner to minimize shipping costs and ensure product safety.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and work with limited supervision.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Work as part of a team and lead.
  • Read, write, and understand English.
  • Attention to detail and quality a must.
  • Good communication, clear and concise, problem‑resolution, and people skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when needed and provide coverage for other shifts.
  • PC skills helpful.
  • Major experience on sit‑down forklifts and walkies.
  • Experience building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
  • Experience in cross‑docking freight process.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse.
Qualifications
  • 2‑4 years in a warehouse environment.
  • Good stable work and attendance record.
  • 6 months–1 year of sit‑down forklift experience (Stand‑up reach/Walkie Rider a plus).
  • 8 months–1 year of past lead experience.
Language Skills Sets
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
  • Communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively.
Mathematical Skills
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables when limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Determine root causes of problems and propose corrective action.
Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Stand on feet for the full shift (8 hours).
  • Work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Maintain sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of controlled substance use.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
