Position Overview:

The Lead Material Handler / Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial equipment to move, load, unload, stack, and stage products and materials throughout the warehouse or distribution center. This Lead warehouse role plays a critical part in ensuring inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and safe warehouse operations while supporting inbound and outbound customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Monday – Friday

3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Competitive Total Rewards:

Competitive hourly pay of $21.50/hour, plus $1.00/hour shift differential, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate sit-down, stand-up, clamp, or other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Inspect assigned equipment daily and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Unload inbound shipments and accurately place product into designated storage locations.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment while ensuring order accuracy and product quality.
  • Move products efficiently between staging, storage, trailers, railcars, and containers.
  • Verify inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper stock rotation and inventory control practices.
  • Follow customer requirements and loading instructions to ensure safe and accurate shipments.
  • Coordinate effectively with Customer Service, Transportation, Maintenance, and Operations teams.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in the warehouse using good housekeeping practices.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and site‑specific Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Report unsafe conditions and assist with maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in the warehouse.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse or distribution center experience.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, or pallet jacks.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry materials in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as business needs require.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a high‑volume distribution or logistics environment.
  • Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • OSHA forklift certification or prior powered industrial equipment certification.
  • Experience supporting inventory control or cycle counting activities.
