Tom's Backhoe & Excavation is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Foreman to lead field crews on civil construction and site development projects throughout Maui.

This is a working foreman role requiring hands-on leadership, problem-solving, equipment operation, and coordination of daily field activities.

• Lead civil construction crews in the field
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Set grade and verify work is completed according to project requirements
• Install sewer, water, storm drain, and underground utility systems
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials
• Operate excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, rollers, and related equipment as needed
• Maintain a safe and productive jobsite
• Conduct daily safety meetings
• Communicate with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and customers
• Train and mentor crew members
• Identify field issues and help develop solutions before project impacts occur

• Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience
• Previous foreman or crew leadership experience
  
  Ability to read construction plans and specifications
• Experience setting grade
• Underground utility installation experience
• Heavy equipment operating experience
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Valid driver's license

• CDL
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
• Trench safety and shoring experience
• Commercial site development experience
• Roadway construction experience
• Striping experience

Full-time position. Work schedule may include overtime and occasional weekend work depending on project needs.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified mainland candidates and may include:

• Travel to Maui for evaluation
