Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections

Description We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in New Century, Kansas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. If you are detail-oriented and have a strong background in accounting principles, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets.

- Perform general cost accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the general ledger with precise coding and documentation.

- Process invoices and manage bank reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate payments.

- Oversee month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is complete and compliant.

- Manage accounts receivable processes, including tracking payments and resolving discrepancies.

- Provide necessary documentation and support for audit preparations and compliance checks.

- Record journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations using accounting software systems.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting tasks to enhance data accuracy.

- Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting functions and streamline workflows. Requirements - Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools.

- Strong knowledge of core accounting functions, including AP and AR processes.

- Experience in preparing and analyzing profit and loss reports and balance sheets.

- Ability to reconcile accounts and maintain accurate general ledger records.

- Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and data management.

- Familiarity with month-end and year-end close procedures.

- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and ensure compliance in financial operations.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills to support audit preparations and team collaboration.
