Director Reinsurance Administration Kansas City Life Insurance Company, a recognized leader in the insurance industry, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Actuarial department. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
* At least 10 years of actuarial and/or reinsurance experience
* Good conceptual ability, strong analytical skills, and experienced with PC applications
* Understanding of insurance accounting
* Good organizational and management skills
* Innovative, creative, self-motivated and independent
* Good human relations and communication skills for a breadth of interactions (actuaries, claims, IT, accounting, auditors, reinsurers, examiners)
* Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead the timely and accurate administration and financial reporting of reinsurance transactions
* Support the negotiation of reinsurance treaties and manage the reinsurance division to efficiently administer reinsurance programs for all KCL companies
* Direct and motivate subordinates to promote their development and maximize their value to the company
* Support the timely development, introduction, and implementation of new individual life products and modifications to existing products through providing reinsurance expertise
* Support the group division with effective reinsurance support
* Support actuarial and corporate management by contributing to the development and operation of models to perform statutory projections and by analyzing company financials (GAAP and Statutory)
* Monitor company experience, follow market developments, and provide reports, analysis and appropriate recommendations to senior actuarial and corporate management in the use of reinsurance to support and achieve corporate growth, financial and capital objectives
* Leverage the data and capabilities of the TAI reinsurance administration system to increase value for the company
* Monitor regulations to ensure compliance of products and recommend product and reinsurance designs to optimize value of new business and inforce.
