Sales Consultant, Sales Representative
Job Summary
An innovative leader responsible for the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program and personalized client solutions while reflecting the company’s ethos around people, processes, products and brand. The role requires translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting in‑home consultations, and supporting sales teams with design expertise. This position is instrumental in elevating the design culture and upholds the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
CompensationAverage Earning Potential After Training: $50,000 – $80,000 (base, commission and bonus).
Training Pay: $23 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission).
After Training Base Pay: $26,000 per year.
Commission:
Uncapped commission on written sales – 3.5% on La‑Z‑Boy Design sales and 2% on other sales.
Monthly bonus opportunity: $0 – $2,000 based on individual sales goals.
- Promote the In‑Home Design program; draft and present customized portfolio presentations to achieve store and individual sales goals.
- Schedule and conduct in‑home consultations to understand client needs, preferences, and vision.
- Partner with Store and Sales Managers to provide coaching, training and support to sales teams, improving design culture, product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure operational excellence and execute new systems and administrative procedures.
- Create design concepts and digital presentations, translating client lifestyles and budgets into actionable recommendations.
- Support store management with weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings, special projects and promotions.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. - Experience:
2–3 years in sales or interior design with a residential emphasis. - Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, CAD programs, financial understanding, interpersonal communication, analytical ability, goal orientation, team management and customer service. - Other:
Ability to work required schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays; valid driver’s license. - Preferred:
Design certification, advanced presentation and communication skills, business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit, and experience building effective relationships.
