Location: 100% Remote Work
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in government contracting and proficiency with the Unanet platform to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our financial operations related to government contracts, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting related to government contracts, including invoicing, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the Unanet platform.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to all government regulations and contract requirements.
- Prepare and submit necessary financial reports and documentation for government audits and reviews.
- Monitor changes in government regulations and update internal processes accordingly.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain budgets for government contracts.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs and profitability.
- Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in accounting practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on government contracting.
- Proficiency with the Unanet platform is required.
- Strong understanding of government regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
