Project Manager - Fabrication & Machining
Shift: 1st
Pay Rate: $75,000/yr.
- $85,000/yr
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee customer projects from start to finish in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key liaison between customers and the production floor, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, and to exact specifications.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact between customers and internal production teams
- Interpret and clarify customer blueprints, drawings, and build specifications
- Develop project routers, Bills of Material (BOM), and work breakdown structures within ERP system (SAGE)
- Create and manage project timelines, including Gantt charts using Microsoft Project when applicable
- Lead project kick-off meetings and provide ongoing project updates
- Identify and communicate project requirements, risks, and priorities
- Estimate fabrication and machining costs based on customer drawings
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and delivery expectations
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in welding, fabrication, and machining within a job shop environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining and metal fabrication
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Hands-on leadership style with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Experience working with carbon and stainless steel preferred
- CAD experience (AutoCAD, E-Drawings, or similar) is a plus
- Routing accuracy
- Project cost control and budget adherence
- On-time project completion and customer satisfaction
- Primarily office-based with frequent interaction on the manufacturing floor
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Frequent computer use and attention to detail required
- Must be able to handle documents, tools, and equipment as needed
- Follow all quality standards and procedures to meet customer requirements
- Adhere to all safety policies and regulations
- Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection (additional PPE as required)
