Production Manager, Manufacturing Production
About you
You are a Production Manager who knows how to keep a manufacturing operation running smoothly. You are organised, approachable and comfortable making decisions, whether that's managing people, solving production issues or adjusting schedules to meet deadlines.
You may already work within signage, though that is not essential. We are equally interested in Production Managers from joinery, kitchen manufacturing, furniture production, metal fabrication, steelwork or similar environments. The business can teach signage. What they need is someone who understands production, leadership and how to get the best from a team.
You enjoy being visible on the factory floor, supporting your people and creating an environment where quality, efficiency and accountability go hand in hand.
Your experience
You have experience managing production within a manufacturing environment and understand the challenges of balancing workload, quality, staffing and delivery deadlines.
You are confident leading teams, managing production schedules and coordinating multiple departments to ensure work progresses smoothly through the factory.
You have a strong understanding of health and safety, experience dealing with staff performance and a track record of improving processes and productivity.
Whether your background is signage, joinery, kitchens, furniture, fabrication or another manufacturing sector, you understand how to organise people and production to deliver results.
What you will be doing with your experience in this role
You will take responsibility for the day to day running of production, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification and to the expected quality standards.
You will work closely with purchasing, project management and installation teams to ensure communication remains strong throughout the business. You will chair production meetings, manage production schedules and monitor progress across departments to keep everything moving efficiently.
You will be the first point of contact for production related issues, supporting supervisors and team members while escalating matters when appropriate. You will also oversee overtime requirements, staff performance, machinery servicing, workplace organisation and health and safety compliance.
Alongside maintaining standards, you will be encouraged to identify opportunities for improvement across production processes, workflow and team performance.
About the business
You would be joining an established signage manufacturer with a strong reputation and a growing workload across a wide variety of projects.
The business has continued to invest in its people, equipment and production capability, creating a stable and forward moving environment for the right person. They are open minded about industry background and recognise that strong Production Managers can come from a range of manufacturing sectors.
If you bring the leadership, organisational skills and production management experience, they can support you in learning the technical aspects of the signage industry.
The package includes a company car, overtime opportunities, 21 days holiday plus bank holidays and access to a wellbeing package which includes a private doctor, shopping discounts, fuel savings and gym membership offers.
